In addition, many 11th and 12th grade students elect to enroll in programs at the Lake County Tech Campus that do not exist at RLHS. Such courses include, but are not limited to cosmetology, auto repair, EMS training, firefighter training, and culinary arts. Students electing to take courses at the Tech Campus receive academic credit at the high school toward graduation.
Round Lake competes in the North Suburban Conference and Illinois High School Association. Its mascot is the Panther.
The administrative organization of the school consists of one principal and four assistant principals, each serving in a different capacity.
The Building Principal oversees all elements of the school, and liaises to the district office. The Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction focuses on the coherence and cohesion of the academic curricula of the school. There are two Assistant Principal/Dean positions, each of which serve as student disciplinarians as well as building administrators supervising academic intervention and behavior intervention protocols and procedures. The Assistant Principal/Athletic Director coordinates the athletics and activities of the school, as well as the overall schedule for the physical building.
Each administrator is also responsible for a number of staff evaluations throughout the school year, in accordance with the EARL contract.
